LILY ELLISTON
Lily Elliston is an artist from London, currently based in Southampton, who produces work that doesn’t take life too seriously. Lily grew up in a creative family and has always been passionate about creating things that put smiles on the faces of those around her.
Her social media platforms have allowed her to share her art as it develops, offering her clients a more personal insight into her journey as an emerging artist. Her work is easily recognised through her use of vibrant colours, expressive brush strokes and signature splats, mirroring her energetic and messy creation process.
Lily looks to showcase her work to her community, inviting people to celebrate the skill and timelessness of this craft in our fast-paced world, spreading the magic of creativity.
THE ARTWORK
Lily Elliston aims for her bold and dynamic pieces to elevate any space and spark conversation, adding depth and warmth to neutral backdrops.
She uses a variety of mediums; however primarily enjoys working with acrylic. Lily also likes to add unique and intriguing materials to her work wherever she can such as glitter, iridescent touches and metallic shine. Her work now begins to explore other mediums such as spray paint, oils and inks.
Lily Elliston builds her artwork through exploring colour and marks, experimenting with the juxtaposition between realism and the abstract.
THE INSPIRATION
Lily Elliston’s inspiration stems from her unique eye for detail, and finding joy in the little things, proving that perspective is key.
She takes time to practice the ‘art of noticing’, finding inspiration and meaning in the ordinary which prompts curiosity, creativity and fosters appreciation of everyday life. An interesting shadow, a rainbow reflection or an eye-catching colour palette all offer unique inspiration for new artworks.
Lily Elliston’s work encourages others to adopt a similar perspective, inspiring them to make the most of the everyday by injecting colour, joy and meaning into their homes
Inspired by her degree in Geography, Lily aims to further explore her interest in the interconnections across space, place identity, the natural environment and society through her upcoming work, using her contemporary style to capture fleeting moments in time.
